Matcha Power

Matcha is the power player behind Green+ wellness blend, sharing its vibrant green hues and magnificent amount of benefits with every sip. We’ve talked about the power of green and we know chlorophyll is the MVP of this topic. While there is a host of many vitamins and minerals like vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc, magnesium, fiber, etc., what’s most remarkable is the chlorophyll content of matcha. Because the green tea leaves of which the powder is derived are shade grown, the plant retains a notably higher amount of chlorophyll than other green teas.

What’s the big deal about consuming chlorophyll? Chlorophyll is a powerful detoxifier, helping to eliminate both chemicals and heavy metals from the body. additionally, it promotes the production of red blood cells, increases the production of white blood cells, accelerates healing, has a normalizing effect on the intestinal transit, has anti-carcinogenic properties (many studies show the efficiency of chlorophyllin (CHL) in reducing the risks of cancer), reduces the production of gas and toxins that occur during digestion, contributes to protecting the liver (the second line of defense after the intestinal barrier), and has very impressive antioxidant capacities. These capacities are 1000 times superior to xanthins (caffeine, theophylline, theobromine, ie tea, coffee, maté, chocolate) and are 20 times superior to those of resveratrol (commonly known to exist in blackberries, grapes, wine).

Matcha contains a unique, potent class of antioxidant known as catechins, which aren’t found in other foods. In particular, the catechin EGCg (epigallocatechin gallate) provides potent cancer-fighting properties. Most importantly, EGCg and other catechins counteract the effects of free radicals from the likes of pollution, UV rays, radiation, and chemicals, which are things that can lead to cell and DNA damage. Since over 60% of the catechins in matcha are actually EGCg, a daily matcha regimen can help restore and preserve the body’s integral well-being and balance.

By drinking matcha regularly, you can also experience the well known effects  such as calming of the mind, relaxation of the body, mood enhancement, and aiding concentration. There is no bias here when we say matcha is a superior supplement to our everyday.
